Labour Rights Monitoring Mission

The Labour Rights Monitoring Mission is a group of independent experts specializing in social policy and labour law.

The Mission was established by the activists of independent trade unions, civil society organizations, and grassroots initiatives from Eastern Europe and Central Asia that agreed to cooperate in protecting and promoting labour rights (Bishkek Declaration, 2016).

The Mission monitors compliance with fundamental labour standards in line with the commitments made by member states of the International Labour Organization. These include ensuring the right to form trade unions and engage in collective bargaining, providing safe working conditions, and eliminating discrimination, child labour, and forced labour.

The Mission collects and analyses information from open sources, conducts research, prepares and presents reports and recommendations, and organizes expert discussions and publications. It also provides educational programs for the training and professional development of experts from independent trade unions and organizations.
